A poem

A super sweet poem.

Goodnight my sun on the cloudy day! My blanket at a cold game! My coffee in the morning!

Goodnight my sweatshirt at the beach!
My slippers in the morning! My fire in the winter!

Goodnight my flower in the weeds! My moon in the sky! My water on a hot day!

My music on a bad day! Goodnight my amazing, my beautiful... -My Boy

Perfectly Precious

Maybe it was sunset, slight breeze, the smell of saltwater. Maybe it was bonfires and the smiles of some of the closest friends, but it was perfect, one couldn't imagine even for a second that one could be any happier. Then a heartpound.

He asked her if she wanted to walk. Stuttering she says sure...slowly rising and glancing at the onlooking grins of the accompanying friends..why were they all so on edgly excited? She shrugs it off and the two of them set off.

Carrying of jovial, meaningless yet friendly conversation at first. But then the tide turns, there they are. On the beach, at waters edge, walking. His arm slips over her shoulder and her heart skips a beat.
He asks if it's okay and she nods slowly looking up into his eyes, breathless. He takes a deep breath and dives in with the unforgettable words, 'so I talked to your mom...' Shock over comes the girl, unbelievable happiness. You might wonder why this is would be such an important statement to her, but it is, because she knew exactly what he meant by it, and what would proceed. She takes it all in. Trying to concentrate on every memory and cement it forever in her brain.

They walk, his arm over her shoulder, her arm looped loosely around his side. Both content and the asks, 'So, would you go out with me?' and she nods unable to answer. The pure joy and bliss of the moment, the moment one is first asked out is unforgettable. She can't find words to answer and sum up her wholeness of happiness.

They head back to the bonfire arm in arm, grinning from ear to ear completely and utterly happy, not a thing in the world could bring them down.
